Finding Peace of Mind Through Planning Ahead
We had a wonderful turnout for our recent Coffee & Conversation presentation, “The Importance of Planning Ahead.”
Representatives from Newcomer Funeral Home and Hospice of Northwest Ohio led an informative and compassionate discussion about hospice care, end-of-life planning, future medical care and funeral arrangements.
These conversations are not always easy, but planning ahead can provide valuable peace of mind for individuals and their loved ones. Residents and guests had an opportunity to ask questions, gather helpful information, and learn more about the resources available within the Toledo community.
We are grateful to our community partners for sharing their knowledge and to everyone who attended and helped make the discussion so meaningful.
Striking Up Fun at Incredibowl Entertainment
Our residents also enjoyed a fun-filled bowling outing at Incredibowl Entertainment. The lanes were full of laughter, cheers, and plenty of friendly competition! Group outings like this give residents an opportunity to explore the community, try something different and make lasting memories with friends. Whether they were celebrating a strike, picking up a spare or simply enjoying the afternoon together, everyone brought wonderful energy to the event.
Celebrating 60 Days of the GV Walking Club
For 60 days, members of the GV Walking Club laced up their shoes, tracked their steps and demonstrated what can be accomplished through consistency and determination. Residents walked through our landscaped courtyards and throughout our beautiful, spacious community. Every lap and every step brought them closer to their personal goals.
The GV Walking Club is about more than physical activity. It also creates opportunities for encouragement, conversation and friendship. We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated and remained committed throughout the challenge.

Sharing Smiles During Pet Week
Pet Week brought even more fun and companionship to Genesis Village!
Because some residents are unable to have live pets of their own, our team created a special celebration that allowed everyone to participate. Residents searched throughout the community during a Paw Print Scavenger Hunt and then attended a heartwarming Stuffed Animal Adoption Event.
Each resident had an opportunity to “adopt” a new furry friend, choose a name and receive an official adoption certificate. The smiles, laughter and joy shared during the event truly warmed our hearts.
Activities like Pet Week demonstrate how a little creativity can create meaningful moments and brighten someone’s day.
