Hello Genesis Village Friends,
Last week, we were honored to have our partner, Allison Roller, BSA, BHA with Partners in Home Care, lead an enlightening Connected Care presentation on Understanding Alzheimer’s at Genesis Village.
Alzheimer’s: More Than Just Stats
Alzheimer’s disease is not just a medical condition; it’s a phenomenon impacting millions globally. Did you know that according to the Alzheimer’s Association, over 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, and this number is expected to rise to nearly 14 million by 2050? But beyond numbers, there are lives, stories, and everyday heroes navigating the realities of this disease.
Tips for Navigating Alzheimer’s
Our goal is not just to impart stats but also to share valuable tips to help manage the challenges posed by Alzheimer’s, including:
- Routine: Establishing a daily routine can be reassuring to someone with Alzheimer’s.
- Communication: Simple, clear, and calm communication can be beneficial.
- Safe Environment: Creating a safe, clutter-free living space is crucial.
- Healthful Diet: Encouraging a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins can potentially aid in mitigating symptoms.
