Ten years ago, a dream took root, a vision to foster a vibrant senior community where residents could enjoy rich experiences and wholesome relationships. Today, that dream stands tall as Genesis Village, a haven of joy, community, and vibrancy. Let’s take a walk down memory lane, cherishing the incredible journey so far and looking forward to a future filled with even more growth and wonderful memories.
Growing Together
Genesis Village transformed from a hotel to a bustling senior community, starting with a humble team of 5, now blossoming into a dedicated group of almost 50. The real testimony to our growth is the over 450 residents we have had the honor to serve, turning this community into a large family where everyone is welcome.
The Birth of Our Community Membership Program
Envisioned to bring people together, our community membership program launched in 2022 currently boasts over 40 members. This initiative has not only fostered stronger bonds but also crafted an environment where every member feels seen, heard, and valued. We look forward to growing our membership program in the coming years.
Collaborations that Enrich Lives
Our journey has been made richer through collaborations with local veterans and community outreach programs. Partnerships with Heroes In Action, Submarine Veterans, University of Toledo Nursing students, and local spiritual leaders, among others, have brought a world of experience, service, and learning to our community.
A Focus on Health and Wellness
As we grew, we understood the essence of holistic well-being, giving life to our health and wellness programs. Our residents have embraced activities from chair yoga and cardio drumming to aquafitness and our walking club, as well as church services and Bible studies, enhancing not only their physical health but also nourishing their spirits.
Life Enrichment Activities for Joyful Living
Genesis Village is a place of joy, reverberating in our life enrichment activities. From Wii bowling and putt-putt to yard games, clubs, and card tournaments, we have curated experiences that bring smiles, laughter, and camaraderie.
Our journey has been filled with hundreds of entertainers gracing our community, including the mesmerizing Polynesian & Fire Dancers and local favorites like Matt Richardson, Ragtime Rick, and Ramona Collins in our Summer and Winter Concert Series. Their performances have added colors of joy, enthusiasm, and vibrancy to our beautiful tapestry.
Lessons Learned
Along this beautiful 10-year journey, we have learned the invaluable lessons of resilience, community, and the art of joyful living. We have understood that a community thrives on respect, love, and collaborative spirit. Our growth signifies the potential that lies in dreaming big and working together as a family, nurturing a space that celebrates life in all its hues.

As we look back on this transformative decade, it’s clear that every step of our journey has been guided by God’s unfaltering hand.
