🎶 Live Music That Brings Back Memories
Music has a powerful way of connecting people, and our recent performance by the Side By Side Band was no exception.
Led by our owner Jim Oedy, this special concert featured classic hits from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, songs that had residents singing along, dancing, and reminiscing.
Jim started this band over 46 years ago and continues to volunteer his time performing for our community. Many performances even include our own residents on stage, adding a personal touch that makes each event unforgettable.
According to the National Institute on Aging, music can improve mood, reduce stress, and even enhance memory in older adults, making experiences like this both enjoyable and beneficial.
👩🍳 Cooking Up Joy at Genesis Village
Our culinary experiences have also been a standout highlight over the past few weeks. At Genesis Village, our chefs do more than just serve incredible meals. They share their passion with our residents.
During a recent Cooking with Brett class, our talented Chef Brett led a live demonstration, teaching residents how to prepare a delicious Italian Chicken with Pasta Primavera from scratch. 🍝
The café was filled with incredible aromas as residents watched, learned new techniques, asked questions, and enjoyed sampling the final dish. 🌿
Moments like these go far beyond the kitchen. They create opportunities for connection, spark conversation, and bring people together in a fun and engaging way. It is just one more example of how we provide enriching experiences that truly make Genesis Village feel like home.
