Our residents recently crafted handmade Valentine’s heart door hangers, turning everyday hallways into cheerful reminders of creativity, friendship, and belonging. These projects aren’t just fun—they’re meaningful moments of connection that bring neighbors together and spark joy in simple, heartfelt ways.
Creative and social activities like these play an important role in healthy aging. Wearing Red With Purpose: Heart Health & Honoring Service
In addition to celebrating Valentine’s Day, our community proudly wore red to recognize two meaningful causes. February is American Heart Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about heart health. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease remains the leading cause of death for adults aged 65 and older, making education, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices especially important as we age (source: https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/consumer-healthcare/what-is-cardiovascular-disease). Through wellness-focused programming, fitness opportunities, and nutritious meals, we are committed to supporting residents’ heart health year-round.
We also wore red to Remember Everyone Deployed (RED), honoring the brave men and women currently serving in the armed forces. It was a powerful reminder of gratitude, unity, and shared values—another example of how our residents come together around causes that matter.
